Chile is the unique wine country of South America. Various climate zones succeed one another along the Pacific coast line and extend over 6.000km as far as the Antarctic. Some of the best wines of the world are crafted from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. They excel through their brilliant red colour, full body and delicious flavour.
To this day, the winemakers of Chile still benefit from the ancient Inka civilization. Large parts of the sophisticated irrigation systems can be traced back to those Chilean ancestors. It´s always worth trying a good Chilean wine in comparison with a European one – the result might be surprising.
Today, Chile produces modern wines for the international markets. The leading grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
